History

For generations, military music has remained a perennial favorite and various events involving military parades have established themselves as tourist attractions globally.

At home base, extravaganzas of all things military have been enjoyed by locals and visitors alike in various stadiums in and around Durban for many years. That is why, based on the on going popularity of military tattoos worldwide and the success of the Durban Tattoo during the eighties, it was decided to revive the local tattoo in 2008. It is now known as the KZN Military Tattoo and has been held annually since then.
By following in the footsteps of what was known as the Durban Tattoo, it continues to showcase the best of military culture and military music available in South Africa as well as to host international bands.

The highly successful military tattoos from 2008 to 2014 have re-established a proud tradition for future generations.
